The VRX935VD is Clarion’s ProAudio flagship of its multimedia line-up. The unit boasts a fully-motorized 7-inch widescreen LCD with touch panel control, a built-in DVD player that plays audio CD’s, DVD video, video CD’s, and MP3 files on CD-R/RWs. Clarion’s CeNET connection offers users full touch panel control of an optional 6-disc DVD changer, Sirius Satellite Radio Receiver, TV Tuner, Dolby Digital/DTS/Dolby Pro Logic II 5.1 surround sound decoder, and a 6-disc audio changer. Dual Zone control directs a second video input to a rear seat monitor while the front seat passengers can listen to another audio/video source.

You can select from eight different screen colors to match your interior lighting, and when the main LCD screen is retracted into the dash, a front panel dot matrix display allows you full control over all of the VRX935VD’s functions. Of course, an IR Remote control is included.

From Sin City
This real world reviewer is actually someone whom I’ve trusted every vehicle that I own with. Her name is Cristina and she works as a valet manager at a popular Las Vegas Casino and Hotel. We’re not going to discuss her video picks for her Toyota truck, but let’s just leave it with the fact that it fits the Vegas lifestyle. (She, of course, only watches movies while parked...)

"The VRX935VD offers several different viewing options," states Marquez. "I really liked watching movies in the widescreen mode."

"The touch screen is a very useful design element," she notes. "I found it a lot better than trying to figure out what button to push on the surface of the unit."

More interesting was the fact that she liked to use the remote even more. She found the remote, much like the unit, intuitive — so much so that she only had to resort to the manual (which she said was very easy to understand) to fully understand all of the lighting options of the unit.

From the cool animated display options, to the color options, the personalization of this unit gained high marks from Christina. The major complaint about most screen type units is that when the unit is closed you can’t tell what’s going on. Christina added that units that she has had in the past where hard to use — not only did she comment that this is the easiest he had ever used, but it has additional features that make it really shine.

"For what I like to call ‘A to B trips’ — trips that you know you’ll want the screen closed, the front display is very useful. That feature alone gives this unit top marks from me."
